Emergency Medical Services
The West Lake Road Fire Assn.,Inc. provides Basic Life Support First Response to all residents in the district and those passing through. When you dial 911 to ask for an ambulance, we are also dispatched as First Responders. This can prove very beneficial due to the fact that our medics and equipment have a much faster response time than an ambulance coming from Geneva or Penn Yan. Additionally, many ambulance personnel are not familiar with the area. We can arrive on scene first and ensure the ambulance arrives without having to look for the address. Our First Response Vehicle (2961) is equipped with all of the same equipment as a Basic Life Support Ambulance and our Medical Staff are certified as New York State First Responders or EMT-Basic's.
***A note to residents: Please make sure that any Medical Alarms that you have dial directly to the Ontario County or Yates County 911 centers and NOT directly to an ambulance service. If you direct dial to an ambulance service, we will not be dispatched. This could create a significant delay in life saving care in your time of need.
